Joseph Omogrosso
B.S., Geneva College
1998 Writing Fellow, National Writing Project,
WPWP, University of Pittsburgh
Pennsylvania Governors School for
Mathematics 2001, 2002
I teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Advanced
Algebra, Senior Math, and commit to year-long math support
sessions for kids who need the extra time.
My ten years here in this stress free
atmosphere enable me to practice flexible methods of
teaching to meet each students needs. I give lots
of individual attention, which is possible in my small
classes. I stress Quality instead of Quantity.
When I teach the concept of central
tendencies: mean, mode, median, I enjoy taking my algebra
classes to McDonalds to use their french fries
to collect the data we need in the teaching lesson.
And, of course, we enjoy eating the fries, too!
My personal interests include the game
of golf, both playing and teaching. I am a PIAA baseball
and softball umpire, so much of my year Im on
an area diamond.
