Spanish
Language and Culture, Foreign Travel Coordinator
Joyce Puebla
B.A., Pennsylvania
State University
My classes include a great deal of
individualized instruction aimed at acquiring a useful
vocabulary to facilitate a practical knowledge of Spanish.
I believe a language is never really understood apart
from the culture which it uses.
I have always had a passion to teach
and have been at the Oakland School since 1995. The
academic freedom here allows me to use the skills I
have in many different ways to meet the needs of my
students. I love my job at this school.
I am the mother of three wonderful
girls and the grandmother of one perfect little girl
and identical twin boys. My children, two sons-in-law
and my grandchildren are the joy of my life.
I also have a passion for travel. I
have led 11 foreign travel tours with our students,
their parents and friends to Spain, France, England,
Italy, Greece, Turkey, Switzerland, Costa Rica, and
Canada. I firmly believe in the educational value of
foreign travel. Lives are changed by these experiences.
