Geography Bee
The Oakland School conducted its 2008
Geography Bee on Friday, May 2nd. 27 students of 11
teams competed for the distinguished Bee and Honey trophy.
Competitors answered correctly questions
of varying difficulty: Which of the Great Lakes is entirely
in the U. S.? or What desert covers 70% of Turkmenistan
with black sands?
Teams such as Sugar, Honey, Iced Tea,
and Delta Force fell by the wayside after the first
round. Two third period history teams advanced to the
championship.
The Mighty Ducks of Alex Tybl and
Greg "Quack" Johnson emerged as the Grand
Champions.
