OSchool Delegates Visit Student G-20 Summit

On Thursday, September 17, The Pittsburgh World Affairs Council sponsored a G-20 student summit at Fox Chapel High School. Ten students represented the Oakland School as delelgates. They were accompanied by teachers Karen Morrison and Rachel Lendyak-Peters.

Delegates to the G-20 summit participated in a panel of experts presentation and broke out into smaller groups, each group representing a different country. Discussions focused on economic recovery, the environment, and energy. Delegates re-assembled to present their conclusions. 500 students from 20 schools gathered at the summit while others participated in web and videocasts, including schools in several foreign countries.

Back at the Oakland School, we participated in the webcast and followed the summit program and broke out into our own discusssion groups.
