On Friday, September 24 fifteen engineers
decended on the Oakland School for an all-day, active,
hands-on workshop. They arrrived at 7am and left at
2pm. They brought pizza for lunch, too!
Presentations and activities enhanced
understanding about careers in education, forms of energy
and especially nuclear energy. Everyone played jeopardy,
assembled lego cars while blindfolded, following the
directions of a seeing partner (Ben Vockley and Joe
Clunas werer the big winners of $10 gift cards), and
passing marbles (outside for this activity). The entire
workshop instilled the importance of collaboration and
teamwork.
The workshop was sponsored by Westinghouse
Electric's N-Vision outreach programs for schools.
